  • Conventional care waits for problems. We don't.

Nearly half of Alzheimer's and dementia cases are preventable — yet most people receive no guidance until symptoms are already present. At Healthspan Neurology, we specialize in neurologist-led Alzheimer's and dementia prevention and proactive brain health, starting long before problems arise.

Personalized Preventive Neurology in Rochester, NY

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias don’t begin when symptoms appear. The brain changes that lead to Alzheimer's start 20 to 30 years earlier — during midlife, when there is still time to act.

Traditional neurology waits for problems. We don't.

At Healthspan Neurology, we use advanced diagnostics and evidence-informed strategies to build a personalized plan — whether you're focused on Alzheimer's prevention or looking for answers after symptoms have begun.

    Dementia Preventive Program

Alzheimer's disease begins decades before diagnosis. Using advanced testing and personalized risk stratification, we identify your specific vulnerabilities and build a targeted plan to reduce your risk — starting now.

    Mind Over Menopause™

Hot flashes, brain fog, mood changes, and poor sleep are neurologic symptoms — not just inconveniences. We treat them that way, while building a foundation for long-term brain health.

    Neurologic Consultation

Whether you're seeking a diagnosis, a second opinion, or a more thoughtful approach to care, we offer comprehensive neurologic evaluation with the time and attention your situation deserves.

Why Choose Healthspan Neurology

  • New patients are typically seen within two weeks. You shouldn't have to wait months for answers.

  • Every evaluation is conducted by Dr. Gajaweera — not a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. You receive expert neurologic assessment from a physician with over 25 years of clinical experience.

  • Initial visits run 90 to 120 minutes. Follow-ups are 60 to 90 minutes, depending on what you need. We don't watch the clock — we stay until the work is done.

  • Our services are direct-pay, with transparent pricing. Many patients use HSA or FSA funds, and we provide documentation to support out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer.

  • Most testing such as labs and imaging are covered by your insurance just as they would be with any insurance participating provider.

  • For patients who have difficulty traveling, we offer home visits in the Rochester area — bringing expert neurologic care to you.

  • We offer telemedicine appointments for established patients and for those located outside Rochester, including throughout New York State.
